International Student from Nankai Business School Won the Second Global Youth Training Program

On October 25, the Award Ceremony of the Second Global Youth Training Program of Cross-Border E-Commerce Talents was held in Hangzhou. CHIN YEAN YEE, a Malaysian undergraduate from Nankai Business School, led a team to win the runner-up of the Entrepreneurship Track of the Set Sail Entrepreneurship Innovation Competition. Nankai University won the Best Organization Award.

 

The Second Global Youth Training Program of Cross-Border E-Commerce Talents was jointly launched by China (Hangzhou) Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone Construction Leading Group office, Hangzhou Public Security Bureau Exit and Entry Administration Bureau, Alibaba AliExpress and Alibaba International station. This activity was to respond to the Belt and Road initiative and to stimulate the entrepreneurship and innovation enthusiasm of international students and returned Chinese talents by building a social resource platform of Talent + Policy + Industry.

 

More than 1,600 people from 120 countries signed up for the competition. The competition consisted of two parts: the live broadcast track and the start-up track. A total of 600 (150 teams) youths competed in the start-up Track. 16 projects led by team leaders from 16 countries around the world competed in the final round. Led by CHIN YEAN YEE, an international undergraduate from Malaysia in Nankai Business School, CHIO team finally won the runner-up of the Entrepreneurship Track after multiple rounds of competition.

 

Cross-border e-commerce has become a new driving force of the steady growth of foreign trade and a hot spot for mass entrepreneurship and innovation. CHIN YEAN YEE, the runner-up, said that the theoretical knowledge and practical methods taught by teachers from Nankai were the cornerstones and key to the competition, and helped them break through one challenge after another. She also expressed the desire to become a Silk Road emissary for China-Malaysia cross-border e-commerce by taking advantage of her knowledge of political economy, social development, language and culture. TAN CHENG ROU, another international undergraduate from Malaysian in Nankai Business School also participated in the competitionwho was responsible for the planning of cross-border e-commerce entrepreneurship project and the operation of overseas social media.

 

International students greatly appreciated Nankai University and Business School for providing multiple learning opportunities to gain diversified experience from the extracurricular activities such as Entrepreneurship Competition, National E-commerce Competition and internship for College Students.
